Does the water taste funny to you?

The citizens of Waterville have a serious problem.  There’s something that’s poisoning their precious spa water and making the tourists sick. Will the town keep the secret quiet so they don’t lose their tourist money or do they let the news out, bringing financial ruin to the town.

About the show:

This July Sod House Theater will present a highly original, immersive, site-specific bluegrass music-infused adaptation of An Enemy of the People at Riverside Park, July 10-14. Ibsen’s An Enemy of the People examines how a community responds when the local doctor threatens to expose that the water source they rely on for tourism is contaminated. The play raises questions about how far a community will go in order to protect their town’s secret so they can keep tourism dollars coming and circumvent a path to financial ruin. This hour and a half musical is a highly original and artistic experience both for audiences and performers. Scenes will take place in the park with audiences and performers moving to four close locations using music as a guide. Actors will perform their scenes and songs in close proximity to the audience making audiences feel as if they are part of the story. Audiences will find themselves immersed in the play’s dilemma and will actually be part of the climactic ending of the play when they vote to shape the ending story.

Join Sod House Theater as we travel to Riverside Park in St. Cloud, MN, July 10th through the 14th, to perform a modernized musical adaptation of Ibsen’s classic play featuring a Water Days Celebration with games, treats and a water tasting!
